Peter Rini (The Talls, Smash) and Laura Esterman (Marvin’s Room, Ruby the Galatic Gumshoe) will lead the cast of a newly revised version of A.R. Gurney’s The Old Boy. The off-Broadway revival, directed by Jonathan Silverstein, will run at Theatre Row’s The Clurman Theatre February 12 through March 24. Opening night for the Keen Company production is set for March 5.
In addition to Rini and Esterman, The Old Boy will feature Cary Donaldson (Mrs. Warren's Profession), Marsha Dietlein Bennett (Woman in Mind), Chris Dwan (Lord of the Flies) and Hal Robinson (Cabaret, Grand Hotel).
The Old Boy tells the story of a successful politician who returns to his elite prep school to dedicate a building to his best friend, only to discover he may have been responsible for his death. The original production opened in 1991 at Playwrights Horizons' Studio Theatre and starred Stephen Collins, Lizbeth Mackay and Matt McGrath.
The production will feature set design by Steven Kemp, costume design by Jennifer Paar, lighting design by Josh Bradford, and sound design and original music by Ryan Rumery.
